Nature Adventures: Snazzy Snowflakes

Winter Night Sky for Beginners
Friday, February 3, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Join Professor Moonbeam to learn the patterns and locations of stars, and other night sky objects during an indoor presentation. Afterwards, we’ll go outside to gaze through the telescopes of the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society to locate stars and constellations visible in the winter sky. From simple bird feeders to pieces of art, learn the basics of creating useful and beautiful things from gourds. Create art or a bird feeder to take home. Spend your Saturday doing fun, hands-on experiments and activities that incorporate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) principles. Active Adults Series: Paint Mines Park Photography Workshop

Winter is a wonderful time to explore the beauty of the Paint Mines. Join award-winning Colorado Springs photographer, Mike Pach, as he guides you through the hoodoos to help you capture photos of this impressive landscape. Mike owns 3 Peaks Photography & Design, is the founder of the Colorado Photography Learning Group, and hosts The Photo Show on KCMJ 93.9 PM. He has been teaching photography and Photoshop classes since 2007 and enjoys showing people how to improve their photography skills. All skill levels welcome. Moderate amount of hiking involved.
