El Paso County Parks will host a youth fishing derby at Willow Springs Ponds from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, June 3.
Celebrate Colorado’s Free Fishing Day at Willow Springs Ponds with a fun fishing derby for children ages 5 to 15.
“Some of my fondest memories are from fishing with my dad and godfather as a youth,” Commissioner Longinos Gonzalez, Jr. said. “And some of the greatest joy I’ve seen in children is the excitement and pride in catching their first fish. Come join us and enjoy a morning of family fun, lunch, and creating new memories. Prizes will be awarded to children ages 5 to 15 for biggest fish, smallest fish and other categories.”
To join the fun of fishing, prizes, and hot dogs grilled by Commissioner Gonzalez. Register online at www.elpasocountynaturecenters.com or call 719-520-6745. Sponsored by El Paso County Recreation & Culture Services, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Bass Pro Shops, and Kona Ice.
