Two El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies and one Colorado Springs Police Officer were taken to Memorial Hospital Central after they were involved in a motorcycle training Crash today.
On Friday, January 06, 2012, members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit and Colorado Springs Police Department were participating in a joint motorcycle training in the area of Aviation Way and Fountain Boulevard. At about 1:55 p.m, three motorcycles were involved in a crash. Two deputies and one police officer were injured and transported to Memorial Hospital Central.
One of the deputies was treated and released with minor injuries. The second deputy was admitted for surgery on a non-life threatening injury. No further information about the deputies or their injuries will be released at this time.
The crash will be investigated by the Colorado Springs Police Department. Any questions about the crash, as well as the condition of the police officer, need to be directed to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
