Detours Begin Friday Morning
Colorado Springs, CO, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 – Detours will be in place for traffic in both directions along south Tejon Street between Vermijo and Costilla starting at 5 a.m this Friday, June 8, and continuing through Sunday, June 10, for installation of underground pipes. Limited access to the County Parking Garage adjacent to the Robert L. Russell Professional Building will be allowed during the construction process.
The new pipes will connect El Paso County's Robert L. Russell Professional Building to the County's highly efficient Central Utilities Plant (CUP). "Connecting the Russell building to the C.U.P. will result in significant energy savings for many years to come," said Deputy County Administrator Monnie Gore. "It also allows us to remove a number of old, inefficient air conditioning units on the roof of the building which are well beyond their useful life expectancy."
Traffic flow will return to normal in time for start of the work week Monday morning.
