In an effort to balance the safety of El Paso County Citizens, fire fighters and minimize the impact of the Waldo Canyon Fire, El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa has worked diligently with Incident Commander Rich Harvey and provides the following guidance.

Ø Highway 24 will open for both eastbound and westbound traffic for residents of these communities from 9:00AM to 1:00 P M. Traffic on Highway 24 will remain restricted for the use of residents for this time period. Proof of residency will be verified prior to entry.
