Colorado Springs, CO, July 1, 2012 – El Paso County Environmental Services and Public Health are helping residents displaced by the Waldo Canyon Fire dispose of any food waste after many residents lost power for long periods of time. Waste Management donated eight thirty yard dumpsters and two drivers to help with the effort. On Sunday more than 50 tons of food waste was disposed of.
On Monday, July 2, residents can drop off food waste at Woodmen Roberts Elementary School located at 8365 Orchard Path Road Colorado Springs, CO 80919 and at Eagleview Middle School located at 1325 Vindicator Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80919 from 9am-5pm.
Residents should check with their insurance company before disposing of anything.
