El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa and members of our El Paso County Citizens Budget Oversight Committee will join Commissioner Amy Lathen for a town hall meeting Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Colorado Springs Police Department Stetson Hills Substation. Residents are invited to come and get questions answered about all aspects of county government as well as participate in an in-depth discussion on the Sheriff’s Office County Ballot Question 1-A.
This is an important question for voters to decide. It is a public safety question; it concerns emergency preparedness, emergency response, the statutory obligations of our Sheriff’s Office to provide critical public safety services to all citizens in the county and the safety of our deputies both in the jail and on patrol.
"I have asked Sheriff Maketa to join me and together we will outline the critical needs he has shared with Citizens Budget Oversight Committee and our Board of County Commissioners and review how those needs have developed over time," said Commissioner Lathen. "We encourage citizens to attend with any questions or concerns."
