Colorado Springs, October 4, 2012 - The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve as Citizen-at-Large members on the Community Corrections Board. Applications for the open position are due by October 26, 2012.
The Community Corrections Board advises the Board of County Commissioners on community-based and community-oriented programs that provide supervision of offenders being diverted from prison and those transitioning back into the community after prison. It is comprised of representatives from the following entities: District Attorney, Sheriff, Chief Probation Officer, Manager of Parole Operations, Deputy State Public Defender, District Court Judge, Police Office, Teller County, the mental health field, and six citizen-at-large representatives. Members serve indefinite terms except for the citizen-at-large representatives, who are appointed for three-year terms.
