On October 23, 2012 at approximately 2:54 a.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a structure fire at 4590 Pipestem Drive in the Ellicott area. Patrol resources from the Sheriff’s Office and area fire resources were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Members from the Ellicott Fire Department, Hanover Fire Department and Tri-County Fire were able to quickly control the fire, limiting fire damage to primarily one room of the home. The homeowner, who escaped the home unharmed along with two dogs, reported being awakened by noise to discover a fire in a bedroom of the home.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating this case as arson and is looking to the community for assistance.
